According to ANN, the first volume of the Deltora Quest manga (where I believe most/all the character designs for anime originated from) is due out in July 2011.

I haven't been keeping track of the episodes that have been airing in Australia at all, but it appears that broadcasts are up to 12 episodes now. Cartoon Network seems to require logging in now to view the videos, which is strange because they worked fine for me without having to do that when it first started. \o_O/ Glancing at some of the titles though, I'm actually a bit impressed that they decided to keep them about the same as the original Japanese (probably because they're so straightforward and Deltora Quest isn't really one for making puns out of).

Also I only just noticed that they have summaries up to episode 52. This is interesting, considering in the anime's original run, there followed 10 extra filler episodes. Could it be the dubbers decided to cut them out? We'll see in about a year or two, I suppose. |D;

By the way, if you're still interested in watching DQ in Japanese with subs, AnimeCrazy.net appears to have them available for streaming online up to episode 26.

Edit: I almost forgot: the anime is set to air in the U.S. in the future as well.

Edit II: And there is a Deltora Quest wikia now!

Been digging around looking for info about when exactly Deltora Quest will be showing, and it looks like they've moved it to May 1st. ABC will also be showing it at the end of the year.

In the meantime! I do believe the first and second episodes are up for online viewing at the official website. Unfortunately, it has been through the usual kiddie anime dubbing process so the musics been changed and stuffs been cut out. This probably means we won't get Delta Goodrem singing one of the openings later ... Not sure how to feel about that.

If you're with Foxtel, apparently you can download the first episode here.

The first DVD will also be available via Madman in June. However, it seems unlikely it will come with the Japanese language track, soooo I'm wondering why they bothered officially subbing it for SMASH! last year. :\a

Y'all remember my post last year about Deltora Quest showing at SMASH!? If you hadn't guessed, I didn't get to see it, unfortunately, and I haven't really heard a peep about it from anyone who went to the con on the second day. But nevermind that.

It's been announced that DQ will be airing in Australia and New Zealand on Cartoon Network in April.

Y'all might be familiar with an anime convention called SMASH! happening this weekend. I just found out that the schedule was finally posted last week and, if you want look at the first image here, on the Sunday events ...

... they'll be screening Deltora Quest.

And according to the one of the con staff in the blog comments, it will have official subs from Cartoon Network.

There's a new opening and a third ending now:

OP: 僕の太陽 by AKB48 (romaji: boku no taiyou)
ED: Go To Fly by Sunbrain

The anime is up to episode 30 this weekend; we are finally introduced to the Ols.

I also found a short, 15-sec trailer for the DS game and there are a number of pictures available at RPGamer (under Media). The character designs are similar to the anime, but also rather different.

And finally: the website for the card game, if you want to poke around.

In case people haven't noticed, I've decided that any downloads from now on must be Friends Locked. This applies to episodes, music, manga, whatever comes along - basically. The decision was made after quite some debate, but I believe it's better just to be safe.

On a lighter note! I realised that I posted some news that probably shouldn't have ended up in a F-locked post, but did. There's a Deltora Quest DS game in production! The graphics look somewhat "old-fashioned" in my opinion. According to this article, the entire game will be controlled by stylus, which should prove to be interesting.

I had a inkling from the anime eyecatches, and it seems it's true: scroll down this page and see the card game.

And finally, Emily Rodda's website has updated with a page about the anime. =D

The Deltora Quest anime began today! Er, yesterday! Although, according to the TV Aichi site, they're changing the schedule to 11:30 on Sunday (in the morning, I'm assuming, since it's more kids orientated).

Meanwhile though, the preview for the next episode is up, and it's titled The Maiden of the Forest, Jasmine. They've also provided voice actors, and it seems that they're going to provide voices for the trees after all.

The characters page has also been updated with profiles and pictures for Jarred, Anna, the Shadow Lord and Fallow.

It also seems like the website is going to be posting bits from "The Belt of Deltora", possibly as they pop up in the anime as a bit of added trivia.

Last of all: I've been trying Google to see if anyone is planning to fansub Deltora Quest and it looks like there's a possibility that DATS may be picking it up. They actually subbed the first preview for the anime, if you're still curious to know what was being said.

The TV Aichi website for the Deltora Quest anime has been updated again. There is another movie, with a much longer and satisfying preview of the anime - we get to see Jarred and Anna, Grey Guards, Jin and Jod, and then some. We also get to hear Lief, Jasmine and Barda. This movie is the yellow button right at the bottom.

There's also a movie of/message from Emily Rodda (it's dubbed over in Japanese, but if you listen hard you can kind of make out what she's saying - I might try to transcribe it later). Some of the anime is also shown (I spot Noradz when they start talking about Filli). It's on the same yellow button as the first preview, next to the 2007. Look for エミリー・ロッダさんからみんなへ ("From Emily Rodda, to everyone").

Last of all, there's a summary up for the first episode. Unfortunately, my Japanese isn't good enough to translate it. |D;

Eeeee, the anime starts airing this Saturday!

Edit: Okay, here's the best translation I can offer for now.

Episode 1: Lief goes on an adventure

Deltora, the kingdom covered in darkness by the Shadow Lord. 16 years have passed since the Shadowlord hid the seven gems in seven terrible places. In the City of Del, a boy has been raised with a strong sense of justice. [Something about the palace of Del and livelihood] is the only son of Jarred the blacksmith, Lief. On his 16th birthday, Lief receives a gemless Belt of Deltora and sword from his father Jarred, and a cloak from his mother Anna. With his father's will, he and Barda set off.

So it looks this'll be more of an introduction and they might not even have reached the Forests of Silence yet.

Yo folks! I figured it was about time Deltora Quest got its own fan community, even if the fandom is rather small. However, what with the upcoming anime on January 6th and all, who knows? It might just grow.

And speaking of the anime, there's a trailer out now - for the Japanese-illiterate, click the yellow button to the left of Lief to have a look at animated scenes of The Forests of Silence.

Still sprucing things up, but if someone could make a pretty icon for the comm, I would be most grateful. If not, oh well. Have fun! :D
